Come meet the 2009-2010 Executive Committee. We will discuss a few of our goals for the upcoming year, including the formation of select committees created to advance the mission of the WLD and to improve the professional and personal development of our members. Please attend the meeting as we will be seeking volunteers to join these committees.
Magdeline D. Coleman of Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney has been tentatively selected by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit to fill the vacant bankruptcy judgeship in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania seated in Philadelphia. Come meet Ms. Coleman as we celebrate this achievement.
Free Concert with Danielia Cotton November 16, 2009. Enjoy an evening of great music in support of Big Brother Big Sister! Rock and Blues balladeer, Danielia Cotton is coming to the Hard Rock Café (12th and Market) for a free concert!

Support WLD member Roberta West and Temple's LEAP Program: Attend the November 19, 2009 EDDY Awards. Temple's LEAP Program will be receiving an EDDY award for its work in teaching students about the principles of democracy while simultaneously developing their critical reading, writing and thinking skills. Ms. West and the LEAP Program would love to be able to fill a table with LEAP supporters at the EDDY award event. The event will be held at 5:30 at Drexel University. Community Service Projects.
Law School Outreach. The WLD teamed up with the other minority bars and the Philadelphia Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division to go to the local law schools and inform them about bar association activities that will benefit them now and after graduation.
